When sense synchronizes,
we are each other’s space
and face and matter
for mutual projections of the immaterial.
Skin on skin transpires over
to self and fiction,
into the shell of another
reflection of many realities.
At the heart of our artistic process lies a tension, a vibration between the self, the other, and the world. We conceive our surroundings—be it society, nature, culture, or technology—as fields of perception from which dialogue emerges. In this sense, the “in-between” constitutes a productive substance: It is the material from which resonance evolves as a process of empathy, mutual affection and shared sense. Identity becomes a variable; decisions are not made but negotiated; actions and forms of expression enter into symbiosis.
Drawing on dialogues about equality, corporeality, and communication, we engage with the social meaning of objects and signs as carriers of values, roles, and hierarchies, structuring the roots of togetherness and society. Within a playful exploration of collaborative artistic processes, we use everyday objects, the body, and technical methods to investigate relational dynamics. Tools are reinterpreted for shared use, or images are captured with modified camera systems that only operate when two people trigger the shutter simultaneously. Through a dialogical approach, we combine analog and digital techniques of photography, photogrammetry, and 3D processing with sculptural and performative techniques.
