Careful The Tale You Tell

Group show @Shipton, London
January 19 – February 02, 2024

Installation view

Shipton is delighted to present ‘Careful The Tale You Tell’, a group exhibition that ventures into the metaphorical woods of the human experience. The exhibition features the work of Bora Akinciturk, Lily Bloom and Jamie John Davies.

Bora Akinciturk’s paintings capture the essence of transformation; landscapes to objects and faces, they mirror the ever-evolving narratives of our experience. His range of styles reflect the multifaceted stories of our era and weaving a tapestry as deep as the depths of the woods.

Jamie John Davies’ paintings foray into the thick of the woods, uncharted territories of human nature; raw and unmasked, they challenge us to face the more primal aspects of our being, stripping away the fairy tale veneer to reveal the true essence of our humanity beneath.

Lily Bloom’s sculptures possess a captivating, ethereal quality that beckons us to consider our own desires and dreams. They explore the act of wishing and pose the question: ‘What do wishes cost?’
