Georgina Trevino x MUXXXE FILOSA CLAWS, 2021 Sterling silver and steel piercings Nail set in collaboration with Muxxxe for the ongoing project titled LEYENDA NEGRA: A guided tour thru the cemetery of dreams. The project casts Tijuana’s sex workers, often referred to as “Las Paraditas” as our tour guides through the archetypes that have constructed Tijuanas’s identity. This set Filosa Claws represents 10 sex workers from Zona Norte or Tijuana Coqueta the name given to it by local government. Honoring each individual’s work and daily sacrifices, these claws not only represent beauty, but act as wearable self-defense for the workplace.
