THE CREEPER IN THE DUSK

THE CREEPER IN THE DUSK, Installation view, Kim Seonjong, Gosaek Newseum, Suwon, South Korea, 2026

Bringing together installation, painting, lighting, and objects, The Creeper in the Dusk imagines a post-human landscape shaped by the material traces of humanity.

Dusk becomes a threshold between one era and another, where industrial remnants and human memories may give rise to new forms of life. At the center of the exhibition is Superorganism, a new series of two large-scale installations made from industrial waste, discarded fishing nets, ropes, hoses, silicone, synthetic fibers, and light.

Inspired by the marine phenomenon known as the Plastisphere and by siphonophores, the works envision a collective form of life in which separate elements function as an interconnected whole. Through the transformation of discarded industrial materials into organic, unfamiliar forms, Kim Seonjong explores how human-made matter might evolve beyond its original purpose and become part of a future ecology.

<The Creeper in the Dusk> reflects on extinction, evolution, and the possibility that what humanity leaves behind may become the foundation for life yet to come.
