12 September 2026 marks the opening of Asad Raza’s Electricity at E-WERK Luckenwalde @ewerk_luckenwalde.

Long before electricity was generated, it was conducted. The Earth is continually traversed by currents that precede and exceed electrical systems. Solar radiation, atmospheric charge, flowing water, roots, nerves and power grids each transmit transformations from one body to another.

For his exhibition Electricity, Asad Raza responds directly to the context of E-WERK Luckenwalde as reactivated power station by artist Pablo Wendel. Raza approaches electricity not as an invisible utility or technological achievement, but as something earthly, ontological and sublime.

The exhibition is experienced in small groups led by a Conductor, who guides attention through a sequence of encounters within the exhibition, including works by Sung Tieu and Tino Sehgal.

An extensive public programme of events and film works accompanies the exhibition throughout its run until 25 April 2027.

The programme is curated by Chief Curator Helen Turner and Producer Florine Lindner and Programme Coordinator Domenico E. Roberti, in close collaboration with Raza.
